Carpetball Games

Most carpetball players follow some general carpet ball rules and play the game in a similar manner.  However, it is fun to create your own variations of the game.  Here are some more ways you can play carpet ball.

First to 20 - Each player sets up 1-5 balls (as agreed upon before the match) on their end of the table.  Each time their opponent knocks all the balls in, they set the balls back up before they take their next turn.  The first person to knock in 20 of their opponent's balls wins the game.  You must win by at least 2 points.

Countdown - Players set up 5 balls.  When their balls are knocked in, they set up 4 balls before their next throw, then 3 balls, 2 balls, and finally one ball.  The first player to knock in the one ball set up wins the carpetball game. - No tiebreakers

Tournaments - Best 2 out of 3 (or any other combination) matches wins the game.  Build a tournament bracket for multiple carpetball players.

Teams - Team members take alternating turns tossing the cue ball

Carpetball Workout - Assign each pool ball number an exercise.  For example, the 5 ball = 10 push-ups, the 2 ball = 15 sit ups, etc, etc.  Every time a ball is knocked in , one or both players do the exercise associated with the ball.  The first person to puke, pass out, or quit looses the game.  If you a little less intensity, just do exercises associated with the balls left on the table at the end of each game.

Mix and match different carpet ball set up patterns or change how you determine the next carpetball player to keep it interesting.

Have fun and create your own carpetball games.  Carpetball is a game with no official rules or style of play.  While you need to set rules for each individual match or for carpetball tournaments, standardization is not always good.  Carpetball is like the rest of your life, it is more fun with with a little variety.
